Order of St John of Jerusalem of
Rhodes and of Malta
On the outskirts of the Roma settlement in Beregovo, Ukraine, which was built in the 1980s on an abandoned landfill site, a Roma center for initially 50 children was opened in July 2021 to be erected.
The extraordinary evening was accompanied by music from 27 Roma children and 13 teachers from the Hungarian music project "Maltai Szimfonia." These children are part of the 300 Roma children from the Order of Malta's centers who regularly receive music lessons and come together for joint concerts.
On March 22, 2018, Altgraf Franz Salm was honored in a formal ceremony at the Hungarian Parliament for his outstanding contributions. He was awarded the Commander’s Cross of the Republic of Hungary, one of the country’s highest honors. This recognition was personally bestowed by Hungarian Deputy Prime Minister Dr. Zsolt Semjén, who, in his speech, praised Ambassador Salm’s tireless efforts in advancing the integration of Roma communities in the Carpathian Area
